What to Expect
Whether you haven’t been in church for some time or have recently moved to Vancouver Island, we know that visiting a new church can be overwhelming. Here are some things you can expect when you visit Highway Christian Fellowship.
Come as You Are
We are informal about church. Relational connecting is valued and greeters will welcome you as you enter. With seating in the balcony and the main floor you can feel free to sit where you like. The service will last about an hour and a half. It will begin with a welcome and prayer by our pastor, followed by uplifting worship. Don't be afraid of not knowing where to find the songs, the words will be projected on the big screen. During the service there will be opportunity to have prayer for any needs, followed by an offering which goes towards maintaining our community ministries, paying the bills, and supporting our international and local missions partners. The pastor will also preach a message from the Bible.
Feel at Home
We want you to feel welcome and safe from unwanted attention. If you wish to receive more information about our church visit our guest service counter at the conclusion of the meeting.
Bring the Kids
At HCF we love children so bring them along. We offer a nursery that is staffed enabling you to enjoy the service while your infant is gently cared for. Children are encouraged to participate with dancing and singing while we worship. Around 11:00 am we have a brief children’s talk and then dismiss them to go downstairs for further activities that are age related. We have instituted Plan to Protect, a policy which ensures your children are in a safe and secure environment. All children are signed in and signed out by parents before being dismissed.
We would love to get to know you
Following the closing song and prayer, you are invited to join us in the front lobby or the library for coffee. If you would like more information how you can connect with the ministries of our church you can speak with someone at the Welcome Center or fill out the 'Let's Connect' card found in the back of the chairs and give it to a church member.
