In light of the ongoing concern regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Highway Christian Fellowship is following the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Canada as well as those of HealthLinkBC.  The coronavirus has become a world-wide concern and is at the top of everyone’s mind, and our goals are to follow the safe health practices recommended by these agencies while we care for one another with the love of Christ.

All of our gatherings and programs will BE POSTPONED FOR THE NEXT THREE WEEKS (March 18–April 11), and any changes will be communicated via our website, email, and social media. Our Sunday message for this week will be on our This Sunday page on our website, so be sure to check it out.

In the interest of following our own advice the office staff will endeavour to work from home.  However, for your convenience the office will be open on Tuesdays from 8-12 if you wish to use the debit machine (which will be regularly disinfected), or to drop off your tithes & offerings.

Giving can still be done on our Give page on our website. You can also donate safely and securely through your bank by e-transferring your gift directly to office@hcfsidney.ca.

If you need to contact one of the pastors or office admin, please leave a message on the office phone 250-656-3712 or email us (office@hcfsidney.ca pastorralph@hcfsidney.ca pastorsue@hcfsidney.ca chris@hcfsidney.ca).

As a church, we continue to pray for God’s intervention in this health emergency, and we are reminded in James 1:5 that when we need wisdom we are to ask God and He will give it.  2 Timothy 1:7 also reminds us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.  In light of these passages, our encouragement at this time is to be cautious in wisdom yet not be overcome by fear.

In the midst of many narratives around us we can still have peace and confidence in Jesus, and use this opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus through our prayers and our care for others.

Be Blessed,
